Description

There are endless options for bird houses and it can depend on personal taste, homemade, decorative and there are all sorts of materials that they’re made of. They can be bird specific, but that doesn’t insure that those are the only birds that will attempt to nest there, but sometimes it helps! The size of the nesting box or cavity will help deter some birds from some houses. Ultimately, one of the most important qualities is that that should have a means for you to clean them out after the birds have finished them and turn them over for the next guest. They can be post, pole, tree, house, fence mounted or hanging. Experiment with different types and keep track of your success and failures, but you’re sure to learn a lot about bird behavior watching! Chickadees are one of my favorite and I’m trying this option myself. (This bird house has a easy-to-open side clean out and should be post mount 6-10 feet above the ground or back mount on a tree. Entrance hole measures 1 1/8 inch.)
